LinkedIn is shutting down live audio. Spotify announced a monetization program for video creators. And Threads gets ready to roll out ads.

✦ The decentralized social network roughly doubled its user base last month to 22M+ following the U.S. Presidential election.
Daze 💬
✦ The new AI-powered messaging app aimed at middle and high school students launched on November 4th.
Facebook 👍
✦ Announced views as the primary metric for all post types. The platform previously showed “plays” for Reels and videos and “impressions” for text posts and Stories.
Instagram 📷
✦ Unveiled privacy improvements, including AI identification of young users who lie about their age in order to automatically switch them to stricter privacy settings.
✦ Testing an option to reset the content recommendations users see in their main feed, Reels, and Explore page.
✦ Will no longer allow users to follow hashtags starting December 13.
✦ Enabled users to add nicknames for direct messages with friends and group chats.

✦ Expanded its AI ads tool Symphony Creative Studio to all advertisers, including the ability to use virtual AI influencers.

✦ Introduced jewels, which are virtual tips that fans can send creators during livestreams.
